Shape, Shine and Shadow

Shape, Shine and Shadow

Thomas Moore was born in a small cottage in the village of Anstey, Leicestershire, in the harsh winter of 1931.

This is the story of his working-class early childhood in the slums of Leicestershire, his wartime boyhood on Leicester's new Braunstone estate, and the consequences of his decision at 16 to leave home and become a boy soldier. A decision that would take Tom around the world, dealing with the aftermath of war on countries vying for power in the wake of World War Two.

As told by Tom himself in recorded interviews and snatches of his own writing, and supplemented by historical information on the times he lived in by co-author Alison Mott.
