About Us

Coalville CAN is a co-operative Community Benefit Society, working to support Coalville and the surrounding area to be a happy, healthy community. We foster new connections, new purpose, and a sense of belonging to anyone, working alongside to discover what that looks like for them.

To do this, we live our 4 main values:

We are welcoming:

CCAN enables new connections to be made by opening up spaces, standing alongside, and spotting opportunities. CCAN doesn’t ask ‘what do you need?’, but ‘what can you contribute?’

We are connectors:

CCAN holds spaces for community use, and makes sure everyone is invited to get involved, no matter who they are. We challenge behaviours that disrespect others.

We animate communities:

CCAN finds ways to bring people together that might not meet otherwise. We ensure people are seen and heard, and live our ‘You Too CAN!’ motto.

We are courageous:

CCAN makes it possible for people to dare to try new things and discover their worth. We don’t just talk about possibilities; we act and encourage others to be brave too.
