Opportunities to get involved:
Digital Support Group - Weekly - Monday, 10.30am - 11.30am
Every Monday at CAN HQ, we host a digital support group, where people can join us to learn how to use devices and the internet for themselves. You can find out more on the event page, by clicking here.
We are looking for anyone who would like to support, or even lead the group now it is growing larger and we are supporting more visitors!This role is ideal for anyone with IT skills, and an interest in a social role supporting others.
MAKERS Shop Crew - Flexible
At CAN HQ, we host a shop called MAKERS, selling locally made items from over 70+ creatives and small businesses. We are looking for anyone interested in contributing their time by assisting us with day-to-day activities such as helping label items, keep stock, etc. We are also looking for volunteers to cover the desk and assist customers with their orders. Primarily, we are looking for support on Saturdays, but we are open to anyone who would like to gain experience working in a shop environment with a creative twist!
Afterschool Club Support/Lead - Weekly - Tuesday/Wednesday Evening
Every week, we run a variety of clubs at CAN HQ for children ages 8 – 14. Find out more about which clubs are on here. If you are interested in supporting the leader of a club and working with young children to engage them in different activities each week, let us know! We are also open to anyone who would like to start a new club- Tell us what skill you want to share (or want to learn!) and let’s make it happen!
Homework Club Support/Mentor – Dates and times to be confirmed
We plan to launch a regular Homework Club at CAN HQ, dedicated to supporting local children and young people with their out-of-school assignments. As well as supporting them with their education, we hope to create a social space that will allow them to make new connections with other local children.
We are looking for anyone interested in supporting or potentially leading the club, as well as potential longer-term mentoring opportunities. If you are interested, don't hesitate to let us know.
